Study visit of students from leading Indian universities
On the 17 July 2017, law students, completing the education under the "Bachelor's" program, in leading Indian universities - Jindal Global University and AURO University visited National University «Odessa Law Academy». The visit of representatives of the Indian universities was organized on the initiative of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.An extensive and cognitive program was prepared for the Indian guests. In particular, Vice-Rector for International Relations Professor Tulyakov Vyacheslav, told the Indian guests about the traditions and innovations of the Odessa Law School, as well as he mentioned the main directions of reforming the higher legal education in Ukraine. A special emphasis Professor V.Tulyakov made on the importance of preparation a new generation of Ukrainian law students of the innovative Master's program- "International and European Law". This program was created by the staff of the National University "Odessa Law Academy" within the framework of the IV TEMPUS project "Development of the Master's Program in European and International Law in Eastern Europe - InterEULawEast ". He introduced to the entire guest the goals, content, methodology and features of the master's program.
Also in the frames of international visit the university professors, who participated in the development of the innovative master's program, read lectures for Indian students on the topics “Association Agreement between the EU and Ukraine: challenges and perspectives”, “Political and legal basics of the EU Internal Market” and “The dark Internet as a criminal area”.
At the end of the visit, Indian students expressed a keen interest in continuing their studies in the Master's program "International and European Law" in National University «Odessa Law Academy».

Fundamental publication on Law of the European Union in Scientific Library of National University "Odessa Academy of Law" (with the assistance of TEMPUS InterEULawEast)
A book collection of Scientific Library of National University “Odessa Academy of Law” replenished with a valuable fundamental publication on Law of the European Union, which was created with the participation of leading scientists and with the assistance of TEMPUS InterEULawEast, Last year the book was presented in electronic form in the Institutional repository of National University “Odessa Academy of Law” (http://dspace.onua.edu.ua/handle/11300/5500), now everyone has the opportunity to get acquainted with the printed editions in the Scientific Library of National University “Odessa Academy of Law”. The representatives of Odessa school of law made a significant contribution to the realization of the project. Vice-rector for International Relations, Doctor of Law, Professor Vyacheslav Tulyakov was one of the editors of the publication. The author's collective included Professor T. A. Antsupova, Associate Professors Y. Y. Akimenko, A. N. Gladenko, I. S. Kryvtsova, N. I. Pashkovsky. Law of the European Union: a Textbook for Master Students / ed. P. Biriukov anv V. In the framework of cooperation of the National University "Odessa Law Academy" and The Europa Institut at the University of Zurich (Switzerland), an intensive training course on the European integration took place from 11 to 25 May 2017
Collaborators of The Europa Institut at the University of Zurich Tobias Naef, Antoine Schnegg, Jonas Racine and Corrine Reber were invited as leading experts. Odessa School of Law was represented by professors of the Department of International Law and International Relations and the Department of European and Comparative Law of the National University "Odessa Law Academy".
The students, post-graduates and young professors of the National University "Odessa Law Academy" had an opportunity to improve their knowledge on the history of European integration, as well as trends of its development, to deepen knowledge in certain branches of EU legislation. Special attention was paid to content and specifics of the implementation of the Association Agreement between the European Union and Ukraine (The Program of the course made up 44 academic hours).
After the completion of the course students received the certificates. Despite the exam period, the program of the course was successfully completed by more than 30 students, post-graduate students and young professors of the National University "Odessa Law Academy".
Also Swiss and Ukrainian colleagues discussed prospects and directions of cooperation in the future. The Swiss side announced the receipt of a new grant from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland to expand cooperation with the universities of the Eastern Partnership countries. Highly appreciating the results of the previous three-year cooperation, the Swiss and Ukrainian sides agreed to prolong cooperation for the next three years, first of all, in the field of academic mobility.

"International Law and Law of European Union"
Within the frameworks of the Open Day of National University "Odessa Law Academy" in 2017, the presentation of the innovative master's program in English "International Law and Law of European Union" was held. The master's program is created within the frameworks of TEMPUS IV projects “Development of Master's Program in European and International Law in East Europe “InterEULawEast”.
In 2016/2017 academic year, the first admission of students was held. The master's program was formed by taking into account the experience of teaching European Union law in leading European universities. During the presentation, the Head of Department of International Law and International Relations Nikolay Pashkovsky and the Head of International Relations Office Vadim Barskyy told potential students benefits and features of the master's program.

IEL’s First Welcome Party
The education process doesn’t stop outside of student audiences. The teachers of the innovative Master’s program "International and European Law" organized the IEL’s First Welcome Party for the students of the program – an informal meeting dedicated to the beginning of a new academic semester and an exchange of views on new courses that students are invited to study.
Students also received some new initiatives under the program, in particular the monthly seminar on the development of soft skills (associate professor Darina Dvornichenko), a guest visit to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and the European Court of Human Rights (professor Tatyana Antsupova). Exchange of views and presentations were alternated with quizzes, organized by associate professor Julia Akimenko.

Within the frameworks of TEMPUS IV project “Development of Master's Program in European and International Law in East Europe “InterEULawEast” modern multimedia equipment was installed in three auditoriums of University. First of all, audiences will be used by students who study in the magistracy with the corresponding specialization. The use of multimedia equipment will promote the introduction of modern teaching methods. The creation of specialized audiences is going to ensure the preservation and multiplication of the results of TEMPUS IV projects “Development of Master's Program in European and International Law in East Europe “InterEULawEast”.

TEMPUS PROJECT IV Program "Development of master's program in European and International Law in Eastern Europe - InterEULawEast"
In the framework of the TEMPUS PROJECT IV Program "Development of master's program in European and International Law in Eastern Europe - InterEULawEast", teachers of the National University "Odessa Law Academy", during 6–9 December 2016 lectured to the undergraduate and postgraduate students of the Donetsk National University.Odessa school of Law was well represented by: head of the Programme "Master in European and International Law", Professor of the International law and International Relations Department, Pashkovsky V. I.; Associate Professor of the History of State and Law Department, M. Katsyn; Associate Professor of the International Law and International Relations Department, D. Dvornichenko.
They gave lectures on many sensitive topics of the European Union law, international, law and international relations, such as: ‘International Criminal Law and Ukraine’; History of the European economic integration and the creation of the EU internal market; ‘Free movement of goods as a key principle of the EU Internal market’; Free movement of the workers and the definion of the ‘market citizenship’; ‘Association Agreement between Ukraine and European Union: challenges and perspectives’; ‘The challenges of the European diplomacy in the XXI centuary: case studies in Afganistan, Iraq and Syria’; ‘European diplomacy and the problem of the Cyprus’.
The colleagues from the Donetsk National University highly estimated the teaching level of the representatives of the National University "Odessa Law Academy".
The course of the lectures will forge the business and professional ties between the National University "Odessa Law Academy", and the Donetsk National University, which is considered to be extremely important for the distribution of the scientific values of abovementioned Programe "Development of master's program in European and International Law in Eastern Europe - InterEULawEast", even after it`s term of the validity will expire.

International Conference "EU Law: Current State, Challenges and Prospects" was held in the National University "Odessa Law Academy" in 2016, November 25, organized by European Union Law and Comparative Jurisprudence Department, Odessa TEMPUS Center and Academic club chair "Unity in diversity" of National University "Odessa law Academy".Viktor I. Vorobyov was the moderator of the first panel hearing "Trends and Prospects for Reform of Ukrainian Legislation in the Implementation of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU". He is doctor of law, professor, Head of the Comparative and European Law Institute of International Relations Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, who began his speech with the Association Agreement and Ukrainian legislation under European process.
Professor, Head of Department of International Law and Special Legal Sciences of the National University of "Kyiv-Mohyla Academy" Roman A. Petrov, who was also moderated the second panel hearing "Political and Legal Mechanisms to Reform the EU Conclusions after the "Dutch referendum" and "Brexit”, made an interesting report and presentation «What does the Association agreement mean for Ukraine, the EU and its member states?».
Professor, Head of European Union Law and Comparative Law of National University "Odessa Law Academy" Behrouz Hashmatulla became the moderator of the third panel hearing "The Problem of Improving the Legal Instruments of EU Foreign Policy in Terms of Global Challenges", who presented the interesting research "Peace Mission as a Tool for Implementing the Common Foreign and Security Policy of the EU" .
It’s important to note that all members of the International Scientific Conference presented very interesting and relevant scientific vision on the development of the European Union, conflict and interaction of legal systems today and the prospects of implementation of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU, and at the end of the scientific event they had the opportunity publish their research theses electronically copy material.

The main purpose of the Conference is discussion of topical issues of legal duration with the context of challenges of the 21. Century. In the Conference famous lawyers from Belorussia, Latvia, Poland, Croatia, Ukraine took part. Within the Conference there was the visit of the Coordinator of the Tempus project “Development of the Master Program in International and European Law Program in the Eastern Europe “ – InterEULawEast, Head of the Department of the Faculty of Economics and Business of Zagreb University Doctor Hana Horak.Doctor Horak became one the most active participant foreign participants of the Conference. Her report on the topic “Law schools in the 21. Century: role, perspectives and challenges”, in which she stressed on the modern requirements to higher legal education, paid attention during plenary session and out as well.
Doctor Horak hold the class for professors of the University involved in Master Program in English “ International and European Law”, met student of this Program. During the meeting of Professor Horak with the Guarantee of the Program Head of the Department of the International Law and and International Relations Professor Pashkovskyi it was discussed the main Problems related to preparation of methodological materials to Master program.

Master of European and International Law Innovative Program Has Started
On September 1, 2016 classes of the first Ukrainian English-language Master’s Program “Master of European and International Law” have begun.The innovative master's program is the result of a three year cooperation of the National University “Odessa Academy of Law” team with colleagues from leading Eastern Europe universities as part of the TEMPUS IV Program "Development of master's program in European and International Law in Eastern Europe - InterEULawEast».
15 students of the National University “Odessa Academy of Law” who are fluent in English and have extensive experience in international cooperation were enrolled in this year’s program.The classes are held in a specialized interactive audience that is equipped at the expense of the European Union, using the latest techniques and training facilities that meet modern European educational standards.It is planned that not only Ukrainian, but also foreign experts will be involved into the educational program of the course.

New Abilities For Young Scientists Of The University
Under the auspices of a consortium of European universities there was issued a new volume of magazine INTEREULAWEAST Journal Vol. 3, Issue 1, June 2016. in this volume of magazine an article of representatives of Odessa legal school Leonova Kristina (4th year student of the Faculty of Civil and Economic Justice) and Skorokhod Vlada (4th year of Judicial and Administrative Justice) was published. We sincerely congratulate the young scholars with their first step to the European recognition.
INTEREULAWEAST was created in the frameworks of implementation of TEMPUS IV project in European and International Law in East Europe – “InterEULawEast”. It publishes the researches on problems of integrative and commercial law of Europe in English. The next year it is planned the notation of the magazine to SCOPUS. During the last meeting of the editorial board it was decided to give one issue annually for publishing of works of representatives of our university. The editorial board expresses gratitude to the Head of the University, research and teaching staff for their contribution into the issue preparation.

May 13, 2016 International round table “European Integration: Progress, Challenges and Prospects” was held at the National University “Odessa Academy of Law”.The work of the round table was organized in the framework of two panels: “European integration: a view from the inside” and “European integration: Ukrainian dimension”.
Professor of the Ca 'Foscari University Bruce Leimsidor (Italy) with more than 40 years of experience in the field of migration management and law; renowned Austrian politician, former Austrian Minister of Defense Friedhelm Frischenschlager and international consultant on transport law with considerable experience on the approximation of EU legislation and projects in Eastern Europe Martin Horseling (Netherlands) participated as international experts in the round table.
European experts and Odessa scientific school representatives submitted reports and presentations that outlined their sometimes critical perspective on the process of European integration and the European Union's relations with Ukraine in the context of the migration crisis, new European security challenges, as well as the implementation of the Association Agreement between the European Union and Ukraine. Undergraduate and graduate students as well as faculty staff of the National University “Odessa Academy of Law” participated in the round table. Materials of the international round table will be published on the website of Odessa Tempus Center that was founded in the framework of the Projects TEMPUS IV «Development of the Master Programme on EU and International Law in Eastern Europe - Inter EU Law East».

From 17.02.2016 to 04.19.2016 in the framework of the TEMPUS IV “European and International Law Master Programme Development in Eastern Europe -InterEULawEast” two students- Kristina Leonova (4th year of the Faculty of Civil and Economic Justice) and Vladislava Skorokhod (4th year of judicial and administrative Faculty) studied at the Faculty of Economics and business, University of Zagreb (Croatia) as part of pilot training.Within the framework of the project students studied the course of commercial law together with the students of the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Zagreb, as well as with the trans-European students exchange program Erasmus +. The focus of the training program was made to obtain skills in drawing up contracts, preparing presentations, the search for the sources of law in the EU database.
Also students took part in 3rd International Conference “Legal reform and EU enlargement – transfer of Experiences: Digital Market Strategy – Legal, Economic and Educational Perspectives”, they had study visits to the Croatian Parliament and to the High Commercial Court of the Republic of Croatia during the educational process.
Tempus IV project «European and International Law Master Programme Development in Eastern Europe» (InterEULawEast) is supported by European Union. As part of the project consortium of leading universities of Eastern and Central Europe National University "Odessa Law Academy" is developing the innovative educational Master degree programme in English.

An Advanced Course in “EU Company Law”
In the framework of realization of the TEMPUS IV Project “The Development of the Master’s Program in European and International Law in Eastern Europe - InterEULawEast” an intensive course of lectures in “EU Company Law” was held from November 5 to November 7, 2015 at the National University “Odessa Law Academy”. Experts in EU Company Law from the University of Zagreb (Croatia), University of Maribor (Slovenia), National University “Odessa Law Academy” and the Donetsk National University were invited for participation in the course.
More than 30 undergraduate students, PhD students, young teachers and representatives of partner universities who are interested in the processes of European integration and EU law development tendencies took part in the course. During the course, foreign experts shared their experience in the approximation of national legislation to the EU law, and Ukrainian experts conducted a comparative legal analysis of the legislation of Ukraine and the EU in the sphere of economic activity. Foreign participants noted the high intellectual potential of the Odessa School of Law, as well as the perfection of the material and technical capacity of the National University "Odessa Law Academy".
The TEMPUS IV Project “Development of Master Programme inEuropean and International Law in Eastern Europe - InterEULawEast” is designed for a three-year period. 8, July, 2015 it was conducted the meeting of the Scientific Council of the National University “Odesa Law Academy” devoted to the implementation of the Master Program developed within “European and International Law Master Programme Development in Eastern Europe".
In his welcome speech Vice – Rector for International Relations, coordinator of the project realization at the National University “Odesa Law Academy” Professor Tuliakov stressed an innovative character of the Program, its accordance to European standards. Also he underlined, that implementation of the program with European standards will allow as a result performing double diplomas jointly with higher educational institutions of the EU countries.
Head of the Department of International Law and International Relations Assistant Professor Pashkovskyi in his report performed a presentation of curriculum of future Master program. He noted also innovation of its form and content. As a conclusion President of the University Professor Kivalov underlined topicality and demand of the Master Program and also wished success in its development.
After voting procedure of members of the Scientific Council supported implementation of a new Master Program into educational process of the National University “Odesa Law Academy”.

Odessa Tempus Centre Has been established
Odessa Tempus Centre, the last of three Tempus Centers within the INTEREULAWEAST project, was established on 18th September 2014. The opening ceremony took place at National University “Odessa Law Academy”, Fontanskaya Doroga 23, Odessa, where the centre is situated in the presence of many students and NU OLA staff.
The opening speeches were given by Professor Sergiy V. Kivalov the Rector of NU OLA and Professor Vyacheslav Tuliakov.
Professor Hana Horak, the Project Coordinator, also participated at the opening ceremony through the video link, and gave the welcome speech.
We express our gratitude to everyone whose efforts contributed to the establishment of Odessa Tempus centre.
